Biography

Australian harmonica ace, Vic Polyik moved to Canada, where he established himself as a significant blues musician active in the early 1990s and 2000s. He devotedly started to play the harmonica when he was sixteen. Victor has developed a dynamic harmonica style with a huge tone and a strong sense of swing inspired by the likes of Little Walter and William Clarke. Fourteen years in Canada saw Vic play and record with some of blues finest including; Shuggie Otis, Jack Lavin (Powder Blues), Guitar Shorty, Amos Garrett and Jeff Simmons of Frank Zappa’s Mothers. Since returning to Australia in 2005, Vic’s worked with Australian music icon Don Walker (songwriter for Cold Chisel), Louis King and many prominent Australian blues performers. Vic’s return to Vancouver earlier this year produced a variety of freshly recorded tracks featured on his new limited edition compilation release. Be sure to catch Vic’s signature fat harmonica tone at a venue near you!
